The B & LE didn't have much use strictly passenger engines, so their stud of such locomotives was relatively small. That holding included this sextet of Pittsburgh engines that were delivered with saturated boilers and slide valves in 1905, 108, and 1909. Later updates included replacing the slide valves with 8" piston valves in universal chests as well as a modest superheater installation. The two E-5Ds were slightly lighter than the earlier engines, but otherwise identical.
16 & 19 were later sold to the Union Railroad and the whole class was gone from the B & LE by 1944.
