Akron, Canton & Youngstown 2-8-0 "Consolidation" Type Locomotives

Class M (Locobase 7617)

Data from the AC&Y 7 -1942 locomotive diagram book supplied in May 2005 by Allen Stanley from his extensive collection.

Among the few road engines the AC & Y bought new were these 5 Consolidations. The first 2 (Baldwin works# 55566-55567) were produced in August 1922. A year later, Baldwin added a trio (works# 56848-56850) that were slightly heavier and had 4 more square feet of thermic syphons, but otherwise identical.
