Class 6 (Locobase 13038)

Data from Baldwin Locomotive Works Specification for Engines as digitized by the DeGolyer Library of Southern Methodist University, Volume 27, p. 62. Works number was 24361 in June 1904.

The Dry Fork ran up the ...er ...dry fork of the Cheat River in West Virginia, rising from the 1,713-ft elevation at Hendricks to 2,775 at the other end of the 31.3 miles of line at Horton. The railroad was reorganized as the Central West Virginia & Southern in 1913.


Class 7 (Locobase 13039)

Data from Baldwin Locomotive Works Specification for Engines as digitized by the DeGolyer Library of Southern Methodist University, Volume 27, p. 62 and Volume 32, p. 67. Works number was 30603 in April 1907 and 33247 in March 1909.

About three years after Baldwin delivered #6, the DFRR went back to the builder for a similar Consolidation that had slightly longer tubes and consquently more evaporative heating surface. A second engine was built to those specs two years later.
