Class Details by Steve Llanso of Sweat House Media

Class 44 (Locobase 13956)

Data from Baldwin Locomotive Works Specification for Engines as digitized by the DeGolyer Library of Southern Methodist University, Volume 43, p. 270. Works number was 39324 in February 1913.

This small wood-burning Consolidation was bought by J L Greer and sold to Dowling Lumber in Florida. Some time later, the 44 was sold to locomotive rebuilder/reseller Georgia Car and Locomotive Co. GC & L either couldn't find a buyer or simply chose to offer to a second rebuilder/reseller Birmingham Rail & Locomotive Co. BR & L induced Fordyce Lumber of Fordyce, Ark. give the 44 a home.
