Atlanta & West Point Mikados

The Atlanta & West Point Railroad and the Western Railway of Alabama were affiliated with the Georgia Railroad and together were known as the West Point Route. The A&WP got its first "Mikados" in 1918, which were built by Lima, designated as Class F and assigned road numbers 400 and 401. They were copies of the Georgia Railroad's 2-8-2s numbers 300-302.

Three more Lima built 2-8-2s were added to the A&WP roster between 1923 and 1925. These three locomotives were copies of the Georgia Railroad number 303 and were designated as Class F and numbered 425-427.

A final "Mikado" came from Baldwin in 1944. This Class F locomotive was given road number 430 and was a copy of the USRA-Heavy Mikado.

There are no surviving A&WP 2-8-2 "Mikado" type locomotives.
