Wheeling & Lake Erie Mikados

The Wheeling & Lake Erie Railroad received 10 USRA allocated “Mikado-Heavy” locomotives in August 1918. They were assigned road numbers 6001-6010. In October 1918, the USRA assigned ten more of “Heavies” to the W&LE. These ten locomotives were assigned road numbers 6011-6020.

There are no surviving W&LE 2-8-2 “Mikado” type locomotives.
