Data from C&IM 4 -1954 Locomotive Diagrams supplied in May 2005 by Allen Stanley from his extensive collection.

Almost 50 years after it went into service, this class had very little commentary to accompany it in the diagram book. It seems a dated design for 1897 with the firebox filling the cab, the dome just ahead of the cab but over the second driven axle, and a long slender first course to the boiler.
