Georgia Railroad / Atlanta & West Point 2-6-0 "Mogul" Type Locomotives

Class B (Locobase 7318)

Data from A & WP-WRA 10 - 1945 locomotive diagrams supplied in May 2005 by Allen Stanley from his extensive collection.

The only Mogul on the West Point Route was this one, used for freight transfer and switching in the Atlanta area.

Class B (Locobase 7900)

Data from GA 1954 locomotive diagrams supplied in May 2005 by Allen Stanley from his extensive collection.

This sextet of Moguls ran for decades unchanged - saturated boiler, medium-sized drivers, slide valves. The driving axles were widely spaced with the firebox and the boiler riding above them. Note that the 1954 book still showed two of the six on the roster.
