The Western Railway of Alabama puchased two 4-8-2s from the American
Locomotive Company in 1920 to pull its passenger
trains. The "Mountains"
were given road numbers 180 and 181 and they had 27 x 28 cylinders, 69"
drivers, a boiler pressure of 210 psi, a tractive effort 52,920 and each
weighed 316,000 pounds.
Number 181 was scrapped in 1952 and 180 in 1954.
