Class Carlos Lopes (Locobase 14724)

Data from DeGolyer, Volume 63, pp. 82+. Imported by Hagemeyer & Brunn. Works numbers were 45534-45535 in April 1917.

This metre-gauge railway connected the Angolan port of Loanda (Luanda) with Ambaca, about 200 km (124 miles) inland. The six axles under each of these Pacifics supported a relatively wide firebox and spread the engine's weight out.

Both the Lopes and the Joaquim Cardoso were destined for mixed-traffic service.
