Cordoba y Tucuman 0-4-2 Locomotives in Argentina

Class Details by Steve Llanso of Sweat House Media

Class Saladillo (Locobase 8427)

Data from 1891 edition of Matthais Forney's Catechism of the Locomotive, pp. 134-135. See also DeGolyer, Volume 12, p. 70. Works numbers were 7365-7368 in June 1884.

Connelly's list (supplied by Allen Stanley) shows that the Saladillo and three other engines - Vipos 77, Tala 78, and Yatasto 79 - were produced in June 1884 as a batch. It was a small wood-burner, but it had a full "cow-catcher", out-of-scale oil headlamp, and a straight stack.

Yatasto went directly to the FC Central Norte; the other three first went to the Central de Cordoba, then eventually to the Central Norte.
