Class unknown (Locobase 3728)

Data provided by Carlos Alberto Fern+ndez Priotti in Bryan Attewell ([] Steam Locomotive simulator program (April 2000). See also Titre Exposition universelle internationale de 1889 a Paris. Rapports du jury internationale. Auteur - Volume France. Ministere du Commerce, de l'industrie. Picard, Alfred, ed. Volume Groupe VI - -Outillage et precedes des industries mecaniques. Electricite (5e partie) Classes 60 a 63. Rapport sur le materiel des chemins de fer; tables beginning on p. 183 ([] (accessed 1 September 2005).

Deliveries came over two years (1888-1889). A Spanish-language site -- [] -- gives a rather complete list of dimensions. [] (visited 3 August 2005) is another source.

Author Diego Martin Robles notes that many changes were made to these engines, in particular the addition of a Belpaire firebox and, in some cases, a pony truck forward, which turned the locomotive into a Mogul (2-6-0); see Locobase 13539. These were sturdy and reliable and consequently worked into the 1970s.
