Fernandez has a confusing comment about these engines, noting that some of them were converted from Series 8 to Series 10 engines. About the only difference Locobase could see is a slightly larger boiler (with the same heating surface areas). It's possible that these are Class VIII survivors that were much later reboilered and renumbered at the same time.
