FC Buenos Ayres & Pacific 4-4-2 Locomotives in Argentina

Class Details by Steve Llanso of Sweat House Media

Class unknown (Locobase 16025)

Data from A R Bennett, "Locomotives for South America", The Locomotive, Volume 16 (15 September 1910), p. 195. See also "Atlantic Type Locomotive for the Buenos Aires & Pacific Railway", Railway Age, Volume XLIII [43], No 8 (22 February 1907), p. 242.

This class bulked about as large as any Atlantic design outside of Europe or North America. Its Belpaire firebox also offered a good deal of direct heating surface area, although its grate offered more modest dimensions. The layout included outside cylinders driving directly onto the rear axle, but inside valves and motion.
