Data from Baldwin Locomotive Works Specification for Engines as digitized by the DeGolyer Library of Southern Methodist University Volume 21, p. 275. Works number 16313 in November 1898.

The specs for this tank noted it would have to tackle "very steep grades". In addition to a saddle tank that carried 1,000 gallons, the Swan also trailed a tender containing another 1,800 gallons.
