Class IVg / M-V 268 (Locobase 9581)

Data from [link], last accessed 28 September 2008.

Locobase 544 describes the Engerth system of augmenting adhesion by cogs driving the three axles of the tender. This long-lasting octet had relatively high drivers and low boiler pressure, which limited tractive effort no matter how many wheels were providing traction.

When they entered service, the engines were named ANINA, NERA, LAGERDORF, SZOLNAK, AROSZBAMAS, SZ+R+GH, SZT. ENDRE, and TETRINIA. By 1873 they had been renumbered 57-64 and ultimately received a Hungarian Railways class ID.
