Class Details by Steve Llanso of Sweat House Media

Class VcI-2 / 149 (Locobase 4602)

Data from [link] (last accessed 20 August 2006) and A E Durrant, The Steam Locomotives of Eastern Europe (Newton Abbot:David & Charles, 1972)..

The two sub-types of this numerous class differed only in boiler pressure, with the more powerful Vc2 serving the Vienna-Lundenburg line. They were delivered by StEG and Wiener Neustadt.

Succeeding the defunct kkStB in 1918, the BBO took some of the surviving locomotives while the PKP (Poland) operated others and the CSD the rest as class 311.3. The last BBO was retired in 1929 while the CSD withdrew its last engine in 1940.
