Locobase is not sure what Google actually means when it translates "Klostergrab" as "Monastery Grave". The name actually refers to the town of Klostergrab (Czech Hrob).
In any case, the 77s were smaller versions of the kKStB's much more numerous class 73s (Locobase 1211) and had very small drivers, although they were every bit as powerful. Clearly intended to negotiate tight curves at low speeds, their all-adhesion wheelbase included lateral play in the last axle that reduced the rigid portion to 2.385 m (7 ft 10"). When the PD was absorbed by the kKStB in 1892, this class became the Type 77.
Never straying from their original area of operations in Silesia, the 77s were successively classified as Class 403.2 by the new Czech State Railway in 1918 and 55 71 by the Deutsche Reichsbahn in 1938 only to regain Class 403.2 after the end of World War Two. The last retiree left service in 1955.
