Class Pribram (Locobase 551)

Norris-type 4-4-0s rode badly at higher speeds, largely because of the overhanging firebox and "boxing" cylinders. At least the designers at Cockerill addressed these 2 problems in their 12-engine Pribram class. The firebox was located between the wide-set driving axles (creating a 4-coupled Crampton look) and the cylinders moved inside and ahead of the closely spaced 4-wheel carrying truck. They were not considered a great success.
