According to the Slovenjia Railway Museum website -- [] -- consulted in March 2002, this locomotive represented a "milestone" and was "probably the best locomotive of the former Austrian Southern Railway (Sndbahn - SB)." Designers Hans Steffan and Ernst Prossy developed her specifically for the Ljubljana - Trieste passenger service. In 1910 trials she hit 79.8 mph and developed 1,547 horsepower. Oesterreich-Ungarien Staatseisenbahn-Ges (StEG), Floridsdorf, Budapest, and WLF all delivered locomotives in this class.
