Class Details by Steve Llanso of Sweat House Media

Class 3 (Locobase 14391)

Data from Baldwin Locomotive Works Specification for Engines as digitized by the DeGolyer Library of Southern Methodist University, Volume 63, p. 243 Works number was 52196 in August 1919. See Locobase 12303 for a short history of railways in Barbados.

This engine repeated the design in the 1898 Mikado tanks shown in 12303, but had three fewer tubes. Its environment included 30 and 45 lb/yard (15 and 22.5 kg/metre) rails, grades of better than 3%, and tight curve radii of 150 feet (45.7 metres).
