Data from W H Maw and William Dredge, "Locomotives", Reports on the Vienna Universal Exhibition, Part II (London: George Eyre and William Spottiswoode, 1874), pp. 407-409. See also Hippolyte Fontaine, Description des machines les plus remarquables et les plus nouvelles a l Exposition de Vienne en 1873 (Paris: Libraire Polytechnique, H Baudry, Libraire-Editeur, 1874), pp. 388-390

This six-wheeler was designed to haul fast passenger trains on relatively flat ground (1.15% maximum grade). It had a Belapaire firebox and was described as having a "...very neat design and good workmanship."

NB: Heating surface areas in the specifications are given in the original as derived from the water-side diameter of the tubes. Fire-side area was 1,173 sq ft (109 sq m). Tube length is between the tube plates.
