CF de Vicinaux 2-6-0 Locomotives in Belgium

Class Details by Steve Llanso of Sweat House Media

Class I (Locobase 20462)

Data from "The Belgian National Light Railways and their Rolling Stock", Locomotive Magazine, Volume XXII (15 February 1916), pp. 26-30.

Although derived from the H class 0-6-0T tram motors shown in Locobase 15554, this trio of Moguls introduced a single two-wheel truck at smokebox end. Whatever the goal might have been (possibly to improve the ride or enhance the motors' ability to handle curves), the result was apparently a solid failure. "[H]ardly of the most successful of the type", said the LM report, "as the weight was badly divided and the adhesion insufficient."
