Sud Ouest Bresilien/Compagnie Auxiliare 2-6-0 Locomotives in Brazil

Class Details by Steve Llanso of Sweat House Media

Class 9/216 (Locobase 12234)

Data from Baldwin Locomotive Works Specification for Engines, as digitized by the DeGolyer Library of Southern Methodist University, Volume 20, p. 262. See also Lionel Wiener, "Locomotives of the Rio Grande do Sul", Volume 19 (15 April 1913), p. 215. Works numbers were 15242-15243 in March 1897.

Wiener contended that these were practically duplicates of the Porto Alegre Moguls of 1896 described in Locobase 12210. In fact, this pair was bigger and used longer cylinder strokes. They were later operated by the Rio Grande do Sul.
