Usina do Queimado 2-6-2 Locomotives in Brazil

Class Details by Steve Llanso of Sweat House Media

Class Usina do Queimado (Locobase 15175)

Data from DeGolyer, Volume 66, pp. 344+. Works number was 55910 in December 1922.

Wood-burning plantation Prairie tanks of this size in Cuba would have probably run on the 30" (762 mm) gauge. But virtually no Baldwins were bought for so small a gauge in Brazil. The sugar engheno that operated this engine was located northeast of Rio de Janeiro near the coast.
