Barra Bonita-Rio do Peixe 2-8-0 Locomotives in Brazil

Class Details by Steve Llanso of Sweat House Media

Class unknown (Locobase 15139)

Data from Baldwin Locomotive Works Specification for Engines as digitized by the DeGolyer Library of Southern Methodist University, Volume 66, pp. 300+. Works numbers were 56124-56125 in January 1923.

The heating surface area in the boilers of these wood-burning Consolidations seems small compared to the just previously delivered Ten-wheelers shown in Locobase 15138. They were certainly meant for longer, heavier trains, but were constrained by the same axle loading considerations as the 4-6-0s.
