Obras do Porto Amarratpo 2-8-0 Locomotives in Brazil

Class Details by Steve Llanso of Sweat House Media

Class 1 (Locobase 15158)

Data from DeGolyer, Volume 66, pp. 313+. Works numbers were 55296-55297 in March 1922.

These were wood-burning Consolidations fitted with Rushton Improved cabbage stacks. Their owner was a large construction company.

Class 1 (Locobase 15160)

Data from DeGolyer, Volume 66, pp. 316+. Works numbers

These were wood-burning Consolidations fitted with Rushton Improved cabbage stacks. Surprisingly, although they had shorter boilers and consequently less heating surface area than the other Norton Griffith 2-8-0s shown in Locobsae 15159, they had more cylinder volume and consequently more tractive effort.
