Oeste de Minas 2-8-2 Locomotives in Brazil

Class Details by Steve Llanso of Sweat House Media

Class 100 (Locobase 13253)

Data from Baldwin Locomotive Works Specification for Engines as digitized by the DeGolyer Library of Southern Methodist University Volume 44, p. 56; and Baldwin Locomotive Works Negative 4056, Class 12-28-1/4-E, 2 supplied in March 2023 in an email from Teemu Koivumaki. Works numbers were 38155-38163 in August 1912.

Relatively unusual Mikados in that they were superheated wood burners (2 1/2 cords in the tender), these were big engines for the gauge. (Also somewhat unusual was the decrease at delivery from Baldwin's estimated weights on drivers and the engine as a whole. Usually the estimates seem to have undershot.)
