Federaux de l'est Bresilien 4-6-2 Locomotives in Brazil

Class Details by Steve Llanso of Sweat House Media

Class 501 (Locobase 15105)

Data from Baldwin Locomotive Works Specification for Engines as digitized by the DeGolyer Library of Southern Methodist University Volume 66, p.196. Works numbers were 55549-55551 in May 1922.

Passenger power on this lightly built, rough-riding road included these three wood-burning Pacifics. Although a wood burner, this design generated a good degree of superheat and used outside constant-lead radial valve gear to actuate 8" (203 mm) piston valves.
