Burma Railways 4-6-0 Locomotives in Burma

Class Details by Steve Llanso of Sweat House Media

Class Ks (Locobase 13918)

Data from Burma Railways locomotive diagrams posted on Flicker by Florian Grupp, last accessed 3 March 2012.

Slender-barrelled Belpaire boiler that used the BESA standards.

NB: All heating surface areas are estimates. The diagram shows only the total heating surface including superheater. Because it also shows tube and flue counts, diameters, and lengths, Locobase calculates the other figures, but cannot confirm them. He estimates the total combined heating surface as 770 sq ft.

Class unknown (Locobase 10674)

Data from "James Nasmyth's Centenary," The Locomotive Magazine, Vol XIV (15 December 1908), p. 209-211.

NB: Tube length is an estimate based on the calculation of tube surface area by subtracting reported firebox heating surface from reported total evaporative heating surface
