Canada Southern 2-8-0 Locomotives in Canada

Class Details by Steve Llanso of Sweat House Media

Class G-6u (Locobase 5368)

The data comes from a reproduction of a locomotive diagram reproduced on the Canada Southern web page [link] (visited 15 February 2003).

Like the earlier New York Central locomotives, these were long-stroke Consolidations with straight boilers, 14" (356 mm) piston valves. These were superheated, however, and may have introduced the technology to NYC Consoldiations.
