Class Details by Steve Llanso of Sweat House Media

Class 283 (Locobase 12583)

Data from DeGolyer Library, p. 129. Works numbers were 19956-19957 in December 1901.

In addition to the 20" x 24" Consolidations purchased at the same time (Locobase 10778), the Chilean State ordered this pair of smaller 2-8-0s for the Coquimba, an even more lightly built railway.
