Class Details by Steve Llanso of Sweat House Media

Class XK13 (Locobase 4782)

Data from Phillipe Quiot on the website [link]; and Duncan Cotterill, "XK13 Class 0-6-0Ts" on Cotterilll's Railography : Chinese Steam Locomotive Profiles website at [link] and Cotterill's partial list of operators shown at "XK13 113 to XK13 5905" at [link], both last accessed 30 September 2023.

One of a series of Polish industrial locomotives built after World War II, these Ferrums arrived in China in 1958-1960. Cotterill wrote that all of the Chinese engines worked in industrial settings. He added "The last reports of XK13s in service were in 1990 at Capital Iron and Steel in Beijing and Baotou Steelworks in 1991."

Rated at 400 hp, it reached 40 kmh (25 mph).

These are part of the export production of this class.
