Class 8 (Locobase 15287)

Data from DeGolyer, Vol 72, pp. 267. Works numbers were 57408, 57415-57419 in November 1923.

Unusually arranged passenger tanks engines, these locomotives had two side tanks that held a total of 475 US gallons (1,798 litres) and a rear tank with a 400-gallon (1,514 litres) capacity. The equalizing pipe from the side to the rear tank extended through the cab to prevent freezing.

The Tien-Tu light railway had been authorized to extend from the Tumen River on the Korean Border to the Tienpaoshan gold mines. Its construction had only extended to Laotoukou when this class was ordered.
