Data from Baldwin Locomotive Works Specification for Engines as digitized by the DeGolyer Library of Southern Methodist University, Volume 60, pp. 165. Works numbers were 54405-54406 in January 1921.
The Chuping operated as part of the Canton-Hankow railway. The order came from Aruhold Karberg & Company for the Tung Yu Mining Company.
These two saturated-boiler Moguls appeared in a handsome livery, at least according to the specifications: "Boiler, cylinders, cab and tender tank to be painted dark green, with gold striping on cylinders, cab and tank. All parts of locomotive below the running boards to be painted red, with the exception of the valve and connecting rods, etc. , which are to be polished. All wheels to be painted red with tires black."
