Data from Baldwin Locomotive Works Specification for Engines, as digitized by the DeGolyer Library of Southern Methodist University, Volume 20, p. 262. Works numbers were 15289-15292 in April 1897.
The Imperial Chinese railway was funded with British capital under a Chinese-British loan agreement signed 10 October 1898. It soon was renamed the Peking-Mukden. This quartet was renumbered 43-46 and served the railway when the Peking-Tientsin section opened in 1897.
