Hunan Yueh Han 2-6-2 Locomotives in China

Class Details by Steve Llanso of Sweat House Media

Class 3 (Locobase 13646)

Data from Baldwin Locomotive Works Specification for Engines as digitized by the DeGolyer Library of Southern Methodist University Volume 34, p. 319 . Works numbers were 34556-34557 in April 1910.

The Yueh Han was located in Kwangtung Province. While the 140 miles between Canton and Shiuchow was under construction, the railroad was controlled by a private consortium with limited funds. Upon its completion it would be taken over to form part of the Canton-Hankow main line. The latter was to link Canton and surrounding densely settled hinterland on a railroad that would run through Kwangtung, Hunan, and Hupeh and end o the south bank of the Yangtze River at Wuchang.
