Cauca 2-6-0 Locomotives in Colombia

Class Details by Steve Llanso of Sweat House Media

Class Rafael Reyes (Locobase 13233)

Data from Baldwin Locomotive Works Specification for Engines as digitized by the DeGolyer Library of Southern Methodist University, Volume 31, p. 118 and Volume 32, p. 317. Works numbers were 32379 in December 1907, 32663 in February 1908, 33011-33012 in October.

Closely following Mogul designs sold by Baldwin in both the United States and Cuba, Rafael Reyes and his stablemates arrived on the Cauca at almost the same time as the railway changed its name to the FC de Pacifico. They had large-diameter tubes, a big boiler, and high adhesive weight. Like the 8, the 9-11 had names: Cisneros, Dagua, and Cali, respectively.
