Ferrocarril del Pacifico

Class Details by Steve Llanso of Sweat House Media

Class 18 (Locobase 13728)

Data from Baldwin Locomotive Works Specification for Engines as digitized by the DeGolyer Library of Southern Methodist University, Volume 44, p. 225. See Gabriel Poveda Ramos,"El Antiguo Ferrocarril del Pacifico"archived at the Academia Colombiana de Ciencias Economicas website under [], last accessed 16 January 2012 for an excellent Spanish-language history of this difficult, long-gestating route to the Pacific Ocean at Buenaventura. Works numbers were 39390-39391 in March 1913.

Camacho Rolden & Van Sickel ordered several batches of locomotives from Baldwin on behalf of the FC del P. An earlier pair of Moguls is shown in Locobase 13729. These much smaller Prairies came several months later. A third locomotive of exactly the same design went first to the Santander-Timba in 1926; see Locobase 15370.
