Class Details by Steve Llanso of Sweat House Media

Class 9 (Locobase 4762)

Data from [link], supplemented by DeGolyer, Vol 66, pp. 115+. Works numbers were 54857-54858 in June 1921.

Smallish metre-gauge articulated tank with a good degree of superheat and 8" (203 mm) piston valves. The two served the Sur on 60 lb/yard (30 kg/metre) rail that climbed 3% grades and went around curves as sharp as 262 feet (80 metres) or 22 degrees. At a later date, the pair went to the Norte and were renumbered 12-13.
