Class Details by Steve Llanso of Sweat House Media

Class 11 (Locobase 14198)

Data from Baldwin Locomotive Works Specification for Engines as digitized by the DeGolyer Library of Southern Methodist University Volume 49, p. 128, Vol 54, pp. 319+; and Vol 66, pp. 103+. Works numbers were 40544 in September 1913, 43336 in May 1916, 51201 in February 1919.

Locobase 13467 gives a brief account of the Norte's origins and original intentions, noting that the actual railway was relatively short. Even so, the company chose a superheated Consolidation design in 1913 and added sister engines in 1916 and 1919.
