Union Miniere du Haut-Katanga

Class Details by Steve Llanso of Sweat House Media

Class L6 (Locobase 14727)

Data from DeGolyer, Volume 63, pp. 91. Works numbers were 42168-42169 in June 1915 and 44225-44228 in October 1916.

Belgium itself may have been overrun by the Kaiser's army in late 1914, but its lucrative African possession--the Belgian Congo--still needed small tanks to exploit its holdings. These wood-burners were shipped under the neutral flag of the United States and thus were relatively safe from attacks by German U-boats.
