Central San Ramon 0-6-2 Locomotives in Cuba

Class Details by Steve Llanso of Sweat House Media

Class 4 (Locobase 14860)

Data from Baldwin Locomotive Works Specification for Engines as digitized by the DeGolyer Library of Southern Methodist University Vol 64, p. 151. Works number was 56639 in June 1923.

If one thinks about turning around a tiny plantation Mogul and putting a saddle tank, this radial tank might result. Such engines needed to show a little self-sufficiency, or so this note suggests: "One of the three cab lamps to have long wire for use with a trouble light, and to reach around the loco." The 4 rolled on 40 lb/yard (20 kg/metre) rail around curves with radii of 150 feet (45.7 m).
