Puerto Principe & Nuevitas

Class Details by Steve Llanso of Sweat House Media

Class Progeso (Locobase 13044)

Data from Baldwin Locomotive Works Specification for Engines as digitized by the DeGolyer Library of Southern Methodist University, Volume 29, p. 294. Works number was 30545 in April 1907.

About as small as a standard gauge (in this case, slightly broader gauge) engine could be, this little inspection engine must have looked a bit like a station wagon (estate car). It had "accommodations for 4 persons" under an "iron canopy". Coal and water capacity were required to suffice for a run of 45-50 km (28-31-miles).
