Class Details by Steve Llanso of Sweat House Media

Class 1 (Locobase 15354)

Data from Baldwin Locomotive Works Specification for Engines as digitized by the DeGolyer Library of Southern Methodist University Vol 78, p. 55. Works number was 58438 in May 1925.

This oil-burning plantation Six-wheeler may have had limited power, but was paid for and lasted for decades in Cuban service. The specification called for the 1 to scale 1% grades and get around 20 degree curves.

It was later sold to the Central Corazón de Jes+s in Cifuentes in Las Villas Province. After the 1959 Revolucion and expropriation, the CCdJ was renamed for Mariana Grajales and the engine renumbered 1224.
