Data from Baldwin Locomotive Works Specification for Engines as digitized by the DeGolyer Library of Southern Methodist University Volume 54, p. 84. Works number was 41673 in September 1914.
A typical plantation Mogul, this short-coupled, low-drivered locomotive featured tractive power over speed. Its firebox and grate system could handle either coal or 2 1/2 cords of wood. A special note in the specifications reminded the paint shop that the two dots over the u in Camagney (which tell the reader to pronounce "guey" as "gway") not be omitted.
Central Camagney was one of seven mills in this eastern Cuban province that were established beginning in 1913. Up until then, Camagney had been known as a cattle-ranching region. Ayala comments that the scale of sugar production shows that Camagney was now "a land of few, new, and large mills."
