Class Details by Steve Llanso of Sweat House Media

Class 1 (Locobase 15353)

Data from Baldwin Locomotive Works Specification for Engines as digitized by the DeGolyer Library of Southern Methodist University Vol 78, p. 52. Works number was 58556 in July 1925.

This oil-burning plantation Praire had 8" (203 mm) piston valves. It went to the CSM in Ranchuelo in Las Villas Province, a mill first operated by the Casicedo Torriente family in 1849. The 1 was specified to negotiate a 11 degree curve (on a chord of 50 feet/15.24 metres), which was a calculated radius of 344 feet (104.85 metres) as well as curves of "163.8 metres (537 feet)".

After the 1959 Revolucion and expropriation, the CSM was renamed for Ifrain Alfonso and the engine renumbered 1635.
