Data from American Locomotive Company data card Class, 280 141, supplied in October 2022 by Ellis Tammelleo's Locomotive Dossier on Google Drive. Vea tambien "Locomotora 1825" en EcuRed de [], mirada por fin a las 19 de Febrero 2023.Works number was 65190 in August 1923.
(Note on provenance: This engine and four more originally entered the production line in Paterson, NJ as a quintet destined for the EF de Dourado in Brazil. When the class was almost ready for shipment, the railway cancelled the order and Cooke listed them as stock. Although the data is the same throughout, Locobase offers entries for all five because of their varied histories. See Locobase 16603, 16632, 16633, 16634, 16635)
Like its Okmulge Northern sister, this light Consolidation remained on the sideline until 1933, when it was sold to the sugar Central Punta Alegre in Ciego de Avila Province as their #11 After the 1959 revolution, the CPA was renamed Unidad 518 Central Máximo G=mez Báez . 11 operated as both road engine and yard goat. In 1974, she took # 1825.
Later, 1875 was reassigned to Unidad 522 Central Venezuela (paralizado) in the same province, performing in the same roles for several years. By then, crews objected to having to stand on a footplate behind a hot boiler in a cab with no ventilation.
After it was retired, the 1875 gradually surrendered parts to other locomotives until 1 March 1996, when it was delivered to the Raw Material Recovery Company.
