Class Details by Steve Llanso of Sweat House Media

Class 4 (Locobase 14902)

Data from Baldwin Locomotive Works Specification for Engines as digitized by the DeGolyer Library of Southern Methodist University Volume 64, p. 396. Works number was 53858-53859, 53 in October 1920.

The official buyer of this trio of small oil-burning plantation Ten-wheelers was the West India Sugar Finance Corporation on behalf of the Atlantic Fruit Company. But all were delivered to the CT and operated on those rails in Oriente Province for decades. When the CT was nationalized after the 1959 Revolucion, the Central was renamed for Frank Pais and the first two were renumbered 1458-1459. Gene Connelly's Baldwin production list does not show what happened to the 6.
