Class Details by Steve Llanso of Sweat House Media

Class 1 (Locobase 14387)

Data from DeGolyer, Vol 63, pp. 27+. Works number was 54647 in March 1921. See Locobase 6689 for a description of this railway.

This wood-burning radial tank was fitted with a Rushton Improved cabbage stack to suppress sparks. Hard water meant "special care" in locating the washout plugs and the fire door was to be "sufficiently large to enable the customer to burn large slabs of wood."

Locobase does not where in the tubeplate one found the single 2 1/4" flue.
